Community Involvement
Since its inception, hundreds of homes have been repaired by Operation Home, totaling in excess of $1 million. Operation Home’s mission is to help people remain in their homes by increasing safety and accessibility through the coordination of critical home repairs for low-income residents of Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester Counties.
Chucktown Squash’s mission is to promote academic excellence, positive personal development and a healthy lifestyle to Charleston’s urban youth using the sport of squash. Through participation in our on- and off-court curriculum, young people will access life-changing opportunities in which they can excel as scholar athletes and community members.
Summer Ink uses The Writers’ Express Method to transform the literacy skills of all students who attend the camps. Through a highly-structured instructional teaching method and curriculum, students learn the fundamental behavioral habits they need to focus on the work at hand, the academic engagement required to take their education seriously, and the core writing skills to communicate their ideas clearly and persuasively.

We believe that we are simply a small part of a greater community in the cities that we work and live in.
In the same way that we work hard to create a sense of community inside of each Chartwell neighborhood, we also believe that all of us as individuals, and collectively as neighbors and as a company should be an active part of the greater community around us.
“Give with Chartwell” is our effort to leave a lasting impact on the cities around us. Schools, Civic Organizations, Churches, Public Parks, Soup Kitchens… there are countless places that we can turn to help our cities and towns.
