Christopher A. Wyett

Cofounder

Mr. Wyett is Cofounder and Chief Financial Officer of Chartwell.

Prior to cofounding Chartwell, Mr. Wyett practiced real estate & corporate law at the Boston law firm of Goulston & Storrs, from August 1998 to October 1999, and at the New York law firm of Cravath, Swaine & Moore, from October 1994 to June 1998.

Mr. Wyett graduated magna cum laude with an A.B. degree in economics from Harvard College in 1989 and magna cum laude with a J.D. degree from Georgetown University Law Center in 1994.

Mr. Wyett is a founding Board member of the Combined Jewish Philanthropy Real Estate Next Generation Group, which is developing affordable housing for mentally disabled adults in Boston; a trustee and officer (VP – Finance) of Solomon Schechter Day School of Greater Boston; Chairman of the Advisory Committee of the PJ Library of Boston; and board member of Summer Ink.

From June 2008, Mr. Wyett was President and Chief Operating Officer of Churchill Forge, Inc., which owns and manages more than 9,000 multifamily units located in South Carolina, south central Texas and New England.

Todd G. Abedon

Cofounder

Mr. Abedon is Cofounder and Chief Operating Officer of Chartwell.

Mr. Abedon graduated cum laude with a B.A. degree in History from Tufts University. Mr. Abedon began working with the Boston-based real estate investment firm of Churchill Forge, Inc. in 1988 and has been principally involved as an owner, investor, and developer in the acquisition, disposition, redevelopment, and management of properties with a combined market value in excess of $1.85B. In 2000, Mr. Abedon, in partnership with Mr. Wyett, launched Chartwell Management, LLC, and subsequently co-founded Chartwell Holdings, LLC.

In 1997, Mr. Abedon cofounded Operation Home, a nonprofit organization providing safety, handicap access, and dignity to the Charleston area’s disadvantaged and disabled residents. He is past-Chair of Charleston Mayor Joseph Riley’s Council on Homelessness and Affordable Housing and former founding board member of the Low Country Housing Trust, an advocacy group for affordable housing in the region. He also currently serves on the South Carolina Governor’s Council for Physical Fitness. In 2007, Mr. Abedon was one of 20 people from around the state of South Carolina to be chosen for the Liberty Fellowship program, an Aspen Institute leadership program focused on making South Carolina a better place for South Carolinians. In 2008, Mr. Abedon launched an effort to establish an after school squash and academic program for Charleston’s inner-city youth.

Tripp Moye

Director of Acquisitions

Mr. Moye joined Chartwell in 2008 as Director of Acquisitions, where he is responsible for identifying and evaluating Chartwell multifamily investments. Mr. Moye also serves on Chartwell’s Executive Committee, which sets the company’s overall strategic direction and determines investment strategy. Mr. Moye has been involved in multifamily acquisitions and dispositions with total costs exceeding $1.85B and the execution of approximately $75mm in multifamily development.

Before joining Chartwell, Mr. Moye spent five years working at Greystar Real Estate Partners, one of the country’s largest and most respected vertically integrated multifamily companies. During his tenure at Greystar, Mr. Moye reported directly to the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer. He focused on strategic initiatives, underwriting of investment opportunities, and the execution of development projects. Before joining Greystar, Mr. Moye was an investment analyst in the Real Estate Investment Banking Group of Nomura Capital and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (DLJ), responsible for underwriting and securitizing commercial real estate mortgages.

Mr. Moye is currently a SC Surf Soccer Club Board Member and serves on the strategic and development committees of the nonprofit Kid’s on Point.  Mr. Moye previously served on the nonprofit Operation Home Board from 2009-2017, serving as Board President in 2015. For over fifteen years, Mr. Moye has conducted a college internship program serving as a mentor to students interested in pursuing a real estate career. Additionally, Mr. Moye is an active member of All Saints Lutheran Church and currently serves on the Endowment, Finance, and Mutual Ministry Committees.

Originally from Charleston, South Carolina, Mr. Moye received his BS in Finance from The Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina (1998). Mr. Moye resides on Sullivan’s Island, SC, with his wife and three children ages 14, 13, and 9.

Brenda Bedarian

Controller

Ms. Bedarian joined Chartwell in August 2013. She oversees all aspects of financial management and control, as well as managing banking, insurance, and audit and tax relationships. Previously she has been involved as Controller as well as performing due diligence related to Initial Public Offerings, mergers, or acquisitions at Marcam Corporation, Polygen Molecular Simulations, Bulmers America, TrueAdvantage and Switchboard.com.  She has also worked in the non-profit sector as Director of Accounting at the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Comptroller for Associated Early Care and Education in Boston, and Director of Finance and Administration at the Consortium for Energy Efficiency. An honors graduate of Northeastern University with a BS in Business Administration, Accounting Concentration, Ms. Bedarian earned an MBA from the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College.

Erin Nicholls

Southeast Director of Operations

Erin Nicholls joined the Chartwell team in January 2012. She graduated from the University of South Florida with a BA in Political Science in 2005. That same year she began her career in real estate working at two private property management firms in Tampa overseeing rental operations of 600+ units. After relocating to South Carolina, Erin oversaw the lease-up and transition of an A+ property in the Upstate to Chartwell. In December 2013, Erin was promoted to Operations Systems Administrator, relocating to the corporate office in Charleston, SC. She assisted with an expansion of Chartwell’s portfolio that has included over 5000 units, completed multiple company-wide software transitions, and oversight of several assets in the portfolio, most recently in North Carolina.  In 2019 Erin transitioned over to Chartwell’s asset management division and earned her CPM designation from IREM. Most recently, Erin was promoted to the Director of Operations for the Southeast portfolio, where she currently oversees Chartwell’s properties located throughout Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, and North Carolina.

Erin currently resides in Northern Virginia with her husband and two children.
